Roberto Clemente Dies in Plane Crash (1972)
Right fielder Roberto Clemente played 18 seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates, winning the National League MVP award in 1966, as well as 12 Gold Glove Awards throughout his career. In 1973, he became the second Hispanic-American player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Clemente, who was dedicated to charity work, was traveling to Nicaragua to deliver aid to earthquake victims when his plane crashed off the coast of Puerto Rico. At the ceremony in 1973, Commissioner Bowie Kuhn honored him by creating the "Roberto Clemente Award", the highest award in baseball for sportsmanship and community activism. Kuhn spoke proudly about Clemente, "He was so very great a man, as a leader and humanitarian, so very great an inspiration to the young and to all in baseball, especially to the proud people of his homeland, Puerto Rico."

Today in 1890...
Wounded Knee Massacre (1890)
The Wounded Knee Massacre was the last major armed conflict between the Lakota Sioux and the US. After the death of Sitting Bull, a band of Sioux, led by Big Foot, fled south, but was captured by the 7th Cavalry on December 28, 1890. On December 29, the Sioux were ordered disarmed. During the tension that ensued, a weapon discharged, US troops opened fire, and within minutes almost 200 men, women, and children were dead.
The majority of the massacre fatalities occurred during the initial ten to twenty minutes of the incident, but the firing lasted for several hours as the army chased after those who tried to escape into the nearby ravine. According to recollections by some of the Indian survivors, the soldiers cried out "Remember the Little Bighorn" as they sportingly hunted down those who fled -- evidence to them that the massacre was in revenge of Custers demise at Little Bighorn in 1876. To read more detailed events and moments please visit this site "The Wounded Knee Massacre".

A Strong Leader Resigns...
George Washington Resigns as Commander-in-Chief (1783) After demonstrating exemplary leadership as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution, George Washington resigned his commission as commander-in-chief and retired to Mount Vernon, Virginia. This act established the important precedent that civilian elected officials, rather than military officers, possess ultimate authority over the armed forces. Six years later, Washington was elected US president. Washington enjoyed less than three years of retirement at Mount Vernon, for he died of a throat infection December 14, 1799. For months the Nation mourned him. Great leaders are usually the ones needed the most in times of need. Please join me in remembering a great man that had the courage to continue the fight for what was right on this day.

So far so good...
I just got done reading an article on CNN.com that was titled 'Illegal immigrants packing up and leaving Arizona'. I want those of you reading this to understand that when I talk about illegal immigrants I'm focusing on the 'illegal' portion of it. I do not question their work abilities or their loyalty to their families, what I do question is their knowledge of the laws that surround them and all of the others that know that it's being broken but still choose to ignore it. With Arizona implementing this law it's only a matter of time before the other states that harbor illegals catch on, and all I can say is 'Good Job'.
I can tell you from experience how a Hispanic family reacts when being disrespected in their home. When entering the home of a Hispanic or any other race or nationality for that matter is that respect comes first then the greetings. If these families that chose to break the law and come here illegally then they have disrespected the most common law known to all - Do not enter my home unless invited. Come in legally and then work to your hearts content, if that's too hard to follow then you've got bigger problems aside from the illegal issue.

Why do it?!?
I have seen many tattoos in my lifetime thus far heck I have even seen some that look really good that they should be put on canvas and then framed for all to see. What these guys are doing is something I like to call "UM Dumb". These guys apparently don't understand the concept of tattoos. I can understand the love of family and the love of your friends and crew but to have these marks on your face for all to see is pretty much moronic. All this is going to do is prove that even in prison these guys aren't all that bright about what is right for themselves.

Saturday Photo Hunt - Small
This entry is only one I can submit for today's theme without upsetting my other family members. This is a picture of Annica my grand-daughter and me at the hospital a day after she was born. I chose this picture because this will be the only time where this cute adorable child will be small because before you and I know it the small child will go from small to tall in no time. Then comes the wish lists and the trips to the zoo and the museum. I can't wait!

Are you kidding me?!?
I want to send Mr. Nathan Jones a special note:
YOU'RE A MORON!!!
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about I would like to inform you that we have a few more idiots/morons amongst the human race. These clowns decided to dress up as VT victims. No not the survivors but the ones that died during the US's worst school shooting. They thought that this would of been something that would be acceptable for a costume party. Watching the video of this guy just made me feel some anger towards him an those who participated. I'm curious, if it was one of his friends or maybe a family member - would he have done this regardless? I say yes, I don't think this guy or any of the others have any remorse now or ever.

42 years and growing...
Kecksburg UFO Incident (1965)
Many believe that the large fireball observed in the sky above Ontario, Canada, and six US states was nothing more than a passing meteor. However, residents of the small town of Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, claim that a car-sized, acorn-shaped object with hieroglyphic-like markings crashed in a nearby wood. The military denied these allegations of course. Dozens of others - including fire fighters, newspaper reporters, and a news director at radio station WHJB who was on the scene taping interviews - describe the military presence at the crash site, the cordoning off of the area, and the retrieval of an object transported by an army truck. Many witnesses have provided signed affidavits for investigator Stan Gordon, who has been working on the case for over three decades. Now something like this would be great for the city of Toledo. What I'm saying is that if something of this magnitude happened here it would of brought up a lot of money from tourists looking for the strange and unusual.

Get the facts...
As most of you know I'm dealing with an over weight issue. Although I do not have the funds to get a LAP-BAND procedure done. Now an LA weight loss program would help but the procedure would be nicer then the program. This procedure is well known and it has a strong record of success throughout the many customers who have tried it. If you are considering this procedure and are still a bit skeptical about the ins and outs of this surgery then please visit the site and research all of the details and read the stories of those who have done it and are living the life they really want.

Snapping the streak...
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (UPI) -- Andres Nocioni scored 22 points Friday and Chris Duhon hit a key three-pointer to propel the Chicago Bulls past Detroit 98-91.
The Bulls snapped the Pistons' five-game winning streak.
Luol Deng added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Bulls, who have won four of five. Detroit was within three points as the game entered the final three minutes, but Deng hit a jumper and Duhon followed with his three-point shot that gave the Bulls a 91-83 advantage. The Pistons were led by Chauncey Billups with 27 and Richard Hamilton with 24. Chicago has won both meetings between the teams this season and has beaten the Pistons five times in their last six games.
I got to watch some of the game last night but was unable to see the entire thing. I can say that from what I saw it looked pretty good on their part. I would like to see more from Noah but I can understand that they are playing him periodically to make sure that when it's game time all the way he'll be ready. Congrats Chicago on another win.

A day to reflect...
Before I begin this post I would like a moment to ask those of you reading this to perform a moment of silence for those who died during that attack 66 years ago today...
Thank You
The Japanese Attack Pearl Harbor (1941)
The Imperial Japanese Navy's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii, severely damaged or demolished 19 American naval vessels, destroyed 188 aircraft, killed 2,280 American servicemen and 68 civilians, and wounded more than 1,000 military personnel. The following day, the US declared war on Japan. Pearl Harbor is now a national historic landmark; a memorial has been built over the sunken hulk of the USS Arizona.
This year, survivors and their family members are dedicating a new memorial for the USS Oklahoma, which lost 429 sailors and Marines -- the second greatest loss of life among any of the battleships in Pearl Harbor.
About 18 of the estimated 90 living survivors who were aboard the USS Oklahoma were expected to join Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry and other dignitaries for the dedication of the $1.2 million memorial. The monument includes 429 white marble standards, each with the name of a fallen sailor or Marine, surrounded by black granite panels etched with a silhouette of the battleship and notable quotes from World War II-era figures that were selected by some of the survivors, said retired Navy Rear Adm. Greg Slavonic, co-chair of the USS Oklahoma Memorial Committee.

Another win for Da Bulls...
CHICAGO (UPI) -- Luol Deng scored a game-high 30 points Wednesday, enabling the Chicago Bulls to upend the Charlotte Bobcats 91-82. The Bobcats led by 36-28 in the second period before the Bulls grabbed a 42-39 halftime advantage. Charlotte led 66-61 with about eight minutes remaining before Chris Duhon and Andres Nocioni keyed a 19-4 Bulls run that put Chicago on top 80-70 with 3:14 left.
Charlotte never led again. Nocioni had 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Ben Gordon had 13 points and five assists. Duhon added 12 points, five rebounds and nine assists for the Bulls, who won for the third time in their four games. Charlotte was led by 22 points and eight rebounds from Gerald Wallace. Jason Richardson and Raymond Felton scored 17 points apiece, and Emeka Okafor had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats, who suffered their seventh straight loss.
Charlotte lost to the Bulls for the second time in less than a week.
Once again the Bulls are showing some hope, I would like to see some more out of Noah and Ben but it seems that they are still adjusting. Either way I'm proud of their achievement last night and hope to see more in the near future.
Insurance issues...
In 2008 my wife and I are really looking into getting a home here in South Toledo. We know that for this to happen we're going to need a really good Home insurance policy that would cover quite a bit and that would be suitable for us as a family. So far I have not needed to compare car insurance yet because the coverage i have now seems to be really good. Now my 18 year old daughter needs to get a better Car insurance policy because her current one is set too high for a deductible, so if and when she gets into an accident her insurance won't kick in until she pays her high deductible. Remember that even though your payments are low you want to make sure that your deductible is set to a reasonable level.
Don't make it worse...
Reading and watching a story from Miami Dade yesterday I found myself wanting for this idiot to be caught and thrown in prison for a long time. I can't imagine the fear in the police's eyes when they have to try and catch crooks without hurting others. Watch the video and notice how this guy did not have any problem putting others at risk for his crime. He performs several u-turns and then decides to drive against oncoming cars to try and shake the police.
He eventually runs into a dead end (literally) and has no where to go. I'm glad that the police were able to grab him and take him away. What I had a problem with was the way they had him down and preparing him to be handcuffed. The crook throws himself to the ground and police move in to arrest him but instead of taking the two arms and cuffing the idiot they proceeded to punch and kick him several times. I don't think they knew that a helicopter was above filming the scene and from what it looks like the area in which this guy was on the ground it didn't seem to be out in the open too much where police thought they can abuse him without being noticed.
Look, I know that most of you reading this and have watched the video are probably saying that if he didn't do the crime he would of been ok. I agree, but you have to ask yourself even if it wasn't this guy this kind of behavior would of come out on someone else. Yeah he probably deserves a good butt whooping but the boys in blue have to find it within themselves to not make matters worse.
Now this clown can sue the department for police brutality and from what I saw on the tape he looks to be settling for lots of cash. CMDR Linda O'Brian says a few words but she basically gave an excuse for the police officer's behavior. It doesn't matter what this or any other guy or gal does you have to show some professionalism while at work.

Caught under wrong terms...
(CNN) -- Debra Lafave, a former Florida middle school teacher convicted of having sex with a student, was arrested Tuesday for "inappropriate but non-sexual contact" with a teenage coworker, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
"I can only characterize this as somewhat of a bizarre and unusual violation," said Lafave's attorney, John Fitzgibbons. Lafave pleaded guilty in November 2005 to having sex with a 14-year-old boy and was sentenced to three years under house arrest and seven years of probation.
This woman is complying with many stips and because she was talking about her crappy life to some chick in a restaurant she's arrested for violating the rules. I don't want to know the behind the scenes on this one because I don't want to know. What I do know is that if she was working at a restaurant you would think that the owner would not of hired her if there was an employee under the age of 18 or on the flip side hire a 17 year old knowing that Debra was working there. Just a little common sense folks that's all.
Hope they listen...
My Parents are coming in to visit some time this month and they have decided to drive my dad's new RV from Connecticut to Ohio. I told them they should rent a car and go online and visit Hotel Reservations.com and take a look and see what they have available under one of the following hotels, motels or resorts. I hope they visit the site because from what I saw the site is very user friendly and has a very well structured layout so that it makes it easy on the viewer to navigate.
Extra Security...
Seems that PayPal's security key isn't necessarily so secure. [A] user discovered a bug that makes the key useless in certain situations. By entering his valid PayPal login and password, answering a security question and entering ANY six-digit number, he can make a purchase. It is important to note that that PayPal and EBay have not been able to reproduce the error ...The entry above was written by Dan Goodin in San Francisco. I haven't met anyone who has one of these but it seems like a good idea especially if you think that their is someone out there watching every move you make.

New in America...
NameYourLoan.com Diversifies Current Lending Environment for Borrowers with New Approach to Online Mortgage Loans.
New online mortgage auction site, NameYourLoan.com, has revolutionized the way borrowers obtain mortgage loans online. As a unique and creative online community, borrowers can easily connect with the best mortgage lenders while lenders benefit from a wealth of real time mortgage leads and opportunities for business growth.
(PRWEB) – In today’s tough lending environment, littered with deceitful lenders and cunning tactics, it’s high time for a revolutionary tool that can empower borrowers yet still benefit lenders. NameYourLoan.com has answered the need with the launch of a new online mortgage auction site designed to give consumers access to an increasing mortgage lenders network to ultimately obtain great online mortgage loans.
“For centuries, auctions have been the most efficient and effective way to get the best deals in everything,” says Al Salahi, President and CEO of NameYourLoan.com. “Why not have auctions for all mortgage loan types?”
NameYourLoan.com is an online community where borrowers can easily connect with the best mortgage lenders. Lenders compete with one another in an online auction to win the borrower’s business. As numerous lenders submit loan offers, the site enables consumers to see “apples to apples”, compare mortgage interest rates and achieve the lowest rate mortgage online such as the best home equity loan rate or home refinance loan.
The site’s sophisticated computer system compiles and calculates all the information submitted by lenders (interest rates, points, fees, terms, etc.) and then ranks loan offers, based on their true worth relative to the borrower’s stated preferences (lowest rate, lowest fees or best combination of rates and fees). This simplified process gives borrowers a coherent presentation of information without having to do the math themselves.
Unlike other online mortgage comparison shopping services, only those lenders who come out at the top of the auction with the lowest interest rates and fees get a chance at the borrower’s business. Moreover, borrowers can invite their friend or relative lender to participate in the borrower’s auction quickly and without cost. Lenders who refuse to participate are most likely high priced and not the best mortgage lenders.
“Through advanced technology, we are starting to make haggling and deceptive lending tactics a thing of the past,” explains Salahi. “At the same time, we are transforming a generally stressful and complicated process into a very pleasant and easy experience for borrowers. Our multiple bid auction format, coupled with constant consumer feedback, will make it easy for us to weed out dishonest lenders—and hopefully put them out of business!”
Use of NameYourLoan.com is completely free for borrowers. Borrowers are under no obligation to accept any of the online mortgage loans offered in the auction. To protect against identity theft and fraud, site users are never asked for sensitive information, and lenders that receive multiple consumer complaints will be barred from future auctions.
For more information, visit NameYourLoan.com.
About NameYourLoan.com:
NameYourLoan.com is the world’s first online mortgage auction, designed to advance the lending process by helping honest and competitive lenders grow their business, and at the same time, make it possible for borrowers to instantaneously reach multiple lenders and receive competitive loan offers online, in an auction format. NameYourLoan.com uses a patent-pending concept powered by sophisticated proprietary software that has been developed by a number of technology heavyweights from the Fortune 500 arena.
Finally something that will work for those of us out there that need that extra lead and opportunity to get the right loan at a low and fair price. NameYourLoan.com, America's 1st Online Mortgage Auction shoule of been created years ago - can you imagine how many individuals or families for that matter that could of taken advantage of this new setup. Well they're here now and it looks very promising for those still lokking and interested.

China Adopts its Current Constitution (1982)
The Constitution of the People's Republic of China, modeled after the 1936 Soviet Constitution, reflects Deng Xiaoping's determination to lay a lasting foundation for domestic stability and modernization and is unique in its encouragement of foreign participation in China's economy. It provides a legal framework for the liberalizing economic policies of the 1980s and drops the previous constitution's guarantee of the right to strike. Much of the PRC Constitution is modelled after the 1936 Constitution of the Soviet Union, but there are some significant differences. For example, while the Soviet constitution contains an explicit right of secession, the Chinese constitution explicitly forbids secession. While the Soviet constitution formally creates a federal system, the Chinese constitution formally creates a unitary multi-national state.

Where it all started...
Ford's Assembly Line Ushers in Era of Mass Production (1913) Henry Ford, an American engineer, introduced the world's first moving assembly line at the Ford Motor Company's Highland Park plant. The new technology reduced chassis assembly time from 12½ hours to less than 3; however, these innovations were hard on the factory workers, and many left the company. Ford's innovative solution to his employee turnover crisis was simple; he doubled pay and reduced shifts by one hour.
Ford was launched in a converted factory in 1903 with $28,000 in cash from twelve investors, most notably John and Horace Dodge, who would later found the Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company. Henry Ford was 40 years old when he founded the Ford Motor Company, which would go on to become one of the largest and most profitable companies in the world, as well as being one of the few to survive the Great Depression. The largest family-controlled company in the world, the Ford Motor Company has been in continuous family control for over 100 years.

Sweeney Todd...
Sweeney Todd - A movie that is a must see. If you're reading this post and you are familiar with the title then I can only add that this is one will be added to the long list of Johnny Depp's greats films. On December 21st you will witness another great performance by Depp, so be sure to have the babysitter lined up and head on over to your local theater and watch what will be one of best movies for 2007.
I have seen many films by Johnny Depp, I even remember watching him on the television show 21 Jump Street where he played a young officer by the name of Tom Hanson. The one scene I remember was when his girlfriend/love interest was shot in a convenience store where he was not able to save her from being shot by a robber. He spent most of his time doing many tasks that would take him about 3.2 seconds to do. His line that stood with me was when he said "I could of saved her in 3.2 seconds but I did nothing". Now another movie that he did that I enjoyed watching and I purchased was Sleepy Hollow. Here Johnny plays what we know today as CSIs. Ichabod Crane was his name and solving murders was his game. The scene which I think was the greatest one was when Crane investigated his first murder in the quiet town of Sleepy Hollow, where he actually breaks out his "tools" to do his research. The line that caught my attention was when he said "The Horseman then came back to collect the head".
If I had to pick which one stood out the most I would have to say Sleepy Hollow. Please visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site and view the trailer and see that this will be a movie to watch and own. If you happen to be a MySpace guru then stop on over and visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace today.

First Serving Female British MP Elected (1919)
Nancy Witcher Astor, or Viscountess Astor, was the second woman elected to the British Parliament's House of Commons and the first to actually serve. She was a Conservative member who concentrated on women's issues, temperance, and child welfare. Astor attracted a great deal of attention, much of it for her caustic and witty comments, and was reelected many times, serving until 1945. When she said to Winston Churchill, "If you were my husband, I'd put arsenic in your coffee," how did he respond? Find the answer and post a comment with your answer.

When Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon entered the tomb of the Egyptian King Tutankhamun, they were the first people to do so in 3,000 years. The tomb was then the best preserved and most intact pharaonic tomb ever found in the Valley of the Kings. In order to remove King Tut's jewelry and amulets, Carter's team dissected the mummy, severing the ancient king's arms, legs, and head in the process. Later, the deaths of several of Carter's team members invited speculation about what ancient curse?
There's always speculation that the deaths of those individuals were the cause of a curse. If you ask me I think it was all in their head and they found themselves being too cautious and any little thing that came up that would be considerd dangerous they probably saw as a sign of the curse. They probably had themselves so tight in security that something as simple as driving could throw them off.

Saturday Photo Hunt - Hot
The picture you see to the right is that of my niece Jasmine. This was taken a few years back but I can remember that day like it was yesterday. The temp was set to be in the mid 80s and the humidity was not that far behind. I was at my mom's house when all of a sudden Jasmine began crying and screaming very loud. We couldn't understand why because she was in the shade under a tree and for some reason she wanted to be in the sun light so we moved her and placed her on the deck. She began crying again this time it seemed to be louder then before. Well my sister began removing clothing from her and would you know it, Jasmine was too hot to have any clothes on. Believe it or not but she fell asleep right after her shorts were removed. I guess the next time an infant starts crying very loud quickly remove their clothes.

Something worth adding...
If we can only add this piece to some of the games throughout the football season I'm sure Pepsi will do better on a sales point of view. There's nothing like some eye candy during the halftime show especially when it's those three. As a side note to this - I found it to be a little bit "exciting" seeing the three of them in hot looking gladiator outfits. You gotta love commercial producers and costume designers when they produce such commercials.

President John F. Kennedy Assassinated (1963)
The assassination of John F. Kennedy while he was riding in a presidential motorcade in Dallas was a seminal event in American history. Although two official investigations have concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald was the culprit, the assassination is still the subject of widespread speculation and has spawned a number of conspiracy theories. Who was the "Babushka Lady," and what was she doing at the time of the assassination?
Kennedy had chosen to visit Dallas for three main reasons: to help generate more Democratic Party presidential campaign fund contributions in advance of the November 1964 presidential election; to begin his quest for re-election; and, because the Kennedy-Johnson ticket had barely won Texas (and had lost Dallas) in 1960, to mend political fences among several leading Texas Democratic Party members who appeared to be fighting politically amongst themselves. The basic decision on the November trip to Texas was made at a meeting of President Kennedy, Vice President Johnson and Texas Governor John Connally on June 5, 1963. The trip also included a first stop in Houston for a 3,200-person dinner for senior Congressman Albert Thomas, who was considering not seeking re-election. On September 26, 1963, the two daily Dallas newspapers confirmed plans of the November visit. *RIP Mr. John F Kennedy*

A different look at it...
When I watched this video I began to wonder how many restaurants here in Toledo throw away good food in order to make room for the next delivery? What Ruthy Woodring is and has been doing for quite some time now can only be seen as wonderful, not only is she helping those who aren't able gather their own food but she's doing her part to make sure these items don't end up in some landfill. I want to send a special thank you to her and her friends who take the time to make sure that food like this isn't wasted. Actually, if our city officials can talk to local businesses about their daily habit we might be able to decrease the hunger numbers by about 20 to 25 percent. When my wife and I participated in the annual Tent City in downtown Toledo I had the chance to sit down and talk to a gentleman that saw the annual event very uplifting and helpful to those who feel there is no hope for them. If you're a restaurant owner or a worker and you're reading this please take the added time to keep that extra food that you normally throw out and contact your local organization that provides food to the homeless and see if they can distribute that food to people that very same night.

Another loss for the Niners...
SAN FRANCISCO (UPI) -- Marc Bulger was 21-of-32 passing for 155 yards and the game's only touchdown Sunday afternoon, as the St. Louis Rams beat San Francisco, 13-9. Torry Holt, who had seven receptions for 55 yards, caught the touchdown, as the Rams won their second game in a row after losing the first eight games of the season. Stephen Jackson ran 23 times for 92 yards, and Jeff Wilkins made two field goals in the victory. Trent Dilfer replaced quarterback Alex Smith, who is out with a sore shoulder, and went 20-for-42 for 231 yards. Joe Nedney was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts for the 49ers (2-8), who lost their eighth in a row.
Freeze It Away Today...
The young man you see to the right is my younger brother Jose. He lives in Puerto Rico and decided to use his year's vacation to come and see me. We haven't seen each other for about 7 years. Don't let his smile fool you because he has been suffering from knee and back injuries since he was 17 playing baseball for two different teams. His first injury was when a wild pitch struck him on his left knee which left him on crutches for about three months. He finds himself rubbing his knee from time to time especially when he is on his feet for a long period of time. His second injury kind of came right after his knee injury. He was making his way to the workplace when he slipped on a wet floor that wasn't properly surrounded with signage mentioning so. He tried to get his balance but ended up hitting his back on two metal shelves. Let's just say that he had a few choice words other then 'I'm Okay'. He has tried pretty much everything to relieve the pain but has not found that soothing product till this day. His way of taking care of the hurting muscles is to rub it down with warm water and a rag. I know for a fact that he will feel better when he tries the Freeze It Gel product. I can image the look on his face when he realizes that now he can actually go for a walk and not have to stop every so often to rest his knee or knowing the fact that he can help his friends work on cars and lift boxes without grimacing. Freeze It will definitely bring a smile to his face that would really have a true intent behind it. Notice in the photo how he doesn't really stand up straight but he kind a leans on something when posing. Freeze it relieves tightened muscles and aching joints to help you enjoy your day a little more.
Someone actually understands...
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said this week that if elected president he would punish states that provide illegal immigrants with tuition breaks or those that issue them driver's licenses.I can't for the life of me understand how those states that offer the licenses and tuition breaks to illegal immigrants can actually think that what they're doing is okay. We as a nation have laws that were created to better this country, I can imagine the outrage of the immigrants who are taking the time to enter this country "Legally" when they watch the news and hear that illegals get rights from this country by simply breaking the law. That has to be the biggest disappointment ever to know that a country that is strong in diversity can't manage to keep themselves protected from border crossers. Most immigrants are coming here to leave the world they know of where border crossers come and disrupt the flow of life by either killing people for the wrong reason or for any reason. Here they are now entering what is known as the 'Liberty and Freedom Country' the legal way and they find themselves witnessing illegal border crossings which they have already seen before and they can only assume that this isn't going to end up good. I can't blame them for coming to that conclusion because the truth of the matter is slapping us right in the face. Let's not keep the blinders on and think that we're a okay - just remember 9-11-01. Watch the complete interview below and you decide what it is you want in a president.

Saturday Photo Hunt - I Love ______
Yesterday's theme is going to be a very easy one. I Love my wife Lisa Renee but she didn't want me to put a picture of her up on this site so I decided to express my second love and that is the love of photography. The image you see to the right is a local farm by the name of Mac Queens. When I saw these beautiful cobbed corn pieces you can clearly see the colors that take on a life of their own. I enjoy finding that special object and giving it the attention it deserves. Enjoy and have a great weekend.

Relaxing by the TV...
I have received a wonderful gift from VAT19 on Friday and the one item that I tried out that night was the 'Ambient Fire' DVD. I slipped it into my DVD player and after a few seconds I was surfing through the menu and seeing what they had to offer. I soon found myself making my own playlist. The Classical selection with the fire sounds is what my wife wanted to hear, so after a few buttons were pushed we began to experience the full feature of the DVD through our surround sound system. We are planning on using this on Christmas Eve when the family is here and enjoying a full dinner together. If you are interested in this video please visit the site and check out the other items they have online like the Fotofalls Desktop Photo Tree which I can see would be helpful for my sister's desk.
Saving that buck for presents...
The one thing I love the most is the fact that I can save a lot of money buying the same products that most grocery stores have at a higher price. The video link below has an inside look on how you can save hundreds of dollars each month. The one thing that I know that we don't do is buy product that is ready to go, for example - precooked meats, sliced cheese sold in quarter pieces, prepared mashed potatoes etc. Well I am kind of guilty on that last one, I love to buy the mashed potatoes already mashed for me so that I can cut some time during prep work for dinner. With the cut down on foods that are ready to go you will easily find yourself saving lots at month's end. This post is up so that in case my brother happens to be checking me online he might see this and think twice about buying that easy meal that takes seconds to prep.

Comfort by selection...
I want to start out by saying that if we were blessed with one of these beauties the long days at work and home will be easier to handle knowing that this wonderful creation of a bed is waiting for us to lay down and relax/sleep. A sleep number bed is something that everyone needs, I can't find anyone that can honestly tell me that their current mattress is the best they ever had and that they wouldn't change it for anything in the world. If there is such a person out there that is okay with their non-comfortable mattress it's probably because they dropped a lot of money for it so they have to get their monies worth before saying it wasn't what they expected. I am asking for those of you reading this to give them a try and for a limited time only you can receive a free bed set ensemble which would include the following 200 thread count fitted & flat sheets, pillows, and pillow cases. Not many stores offer that right from the start. If you aren't sure if this is a good deal then please take a few minutes and visit this page and see the difference when compared to Select Comfort. The cold days are just around the corner so that means that there will be some cuddle time coming up.

A merger worth the wait...
I just read and heard the announcement that Delta and United Airlines are in talks of merging with the American Airlines name staying and the corporate offices remaining in Chicago. I believe that with this merger the prices of tickets will be coming down in the near future. The prices before the holidays may not be tweaked enough to see a difference but I can safely say that they will run smoother and more efficient. With the praise of Southwest Airlines being a very well managed airline and the many kudos to the employees receive for treating their customers with respect and as a family member has other companies like the ones merging beefing up their measures and standards.
What's wrong with the media?
This morning a friend of mine brought to my attention something that is completely wrong and should be taken care of immediately. The following video links you see are two different point of views. One video you will see CNN conducting an interview with John Cena which lasts approximately 30 seconds. The other video is the same interview but it was recorded by WWE for their own purposes and it lasts for about 2 mintues and 38 seconds. When you watch the CNN version you will clearly hear Cena say that he may have used steroids but you can't prove it, while on the unedited version recorded by WWE you will hear Cena clearly say No. My question to CNN is this "What did you have to gain from this by editing his answer?"
I have talked about the steroid issue before when it was mentioned that Barry Bonds was potentially using. I simply stated that until proven dirty, he's still clean. This same comment goes for any other athlete out there, You are not guilty for improving your body in order to achieve that goal especially if you did it in a clean manner.
Here is a comment from WWE.

Here is a comment from WWE.
In a country in which the news media is highly suspect, and the quality of unbiased reporting has been thrown into the trash can, CNN has stooped to new depths. Notwithstanding the fairness, or lack therein, of CNN’s recent piece entitled “Death Grip: Inside Pro Wrestling,” perhaps the best example of how CNN misrepresents and unfairly presents their biased, if not illegal, point of view is the comparison of WWE’s unedited video above to CNN’s edited version. CNN’s depiction of John Cena as it relates to steroids is not only professionally and morally wrong, but damaging to his character. This next comment comes from Kevin Eck, Baltimore Sun, November 12, 2007
“I don’t see how a respected news organization such as CNN – or any responsible journalist, for that matter – could omit Cena’s initial response to the question, which was a clear and direct denial to having ever taken steroids.”Watch the following videos and see for yourself the audacity that CNN presented.

Citizens On Patrol = COP
This idea is something that I can see myself pushing here in Toledo area. Our police force is a bit slim so this extra help would definitely help keep our neighborhoods safe from those who like to express their "freedom" to speed and potentially kill someone. I support this action as much if not more then the red light camera system that catches red light runners. Both types of ways of catching law breakers are ok with me.

A different look at it...
DeLAND, Fla. -- A Volusia County nursing home resident who was taken to a hospital on Wednesday for respiratory problems had maggots in one of his eyes, an infected breathing tube, a partially inserted catheter and bed sores, according to authorities. After reading this story I was quickly outraged but then I did some further research and I found that maggots although disgusting they actually have an important job. Maggots are the world's smallest surgeons. In fact they are better than surgeons - they are much cheaper and work 24 hours a day. University of Manchester Professor has been known to use maggots to treat diabetic foot ulcers of patients for quite some time now. I'm pretty sure that the patient in the nursing care center didn't have an ulcer on his foot because the maggot was found in his eye. I just hope that this is an isolated incident and not something that will be popping up throughout the US.

New filmaking tactics...
Based on the Old English epic poem, the warrior Beowulf battles Grendel the monster, who is terrorizing towns. It's one of the oldest tales in the English language. Could it also represent the future of filmmaking? The epic poem Beowulf, more than 1,000 years old and long the bane of high school literature students, has been re-created in all its muscles-vs.-monsters glory in a $150 million movie that amounts to an artistic and commercial experiment in film technology. This movie looks to be a great hit, but this was not the only movie done that brought in high graphics to the big screen. The other movie that I'm talking about is Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. This movie was a really well done piece, when I first watched it I had a little trouble wtching it and thinking it was all generated by graphics and no actors well as far as visible. Here's a quick summary of the movie that was released in 2001.
In the year 2065, the next great assault against an invading race of phantom-like aliens is about to be launched. Dr. Aki Ross, a brilliant young scientist, races to find the invaders' secrets, not only to save the planet, but herself as well after her body is infected by alien particles. She teams up with the prestigious Deep Eyes military squadron, led by her old friend Grey Edwards. But as Aki, her mentor Dr. Sid, and Grey work toward a peaceful end, the scheming General Hein devises a plot to eradicate the aliens in one swift, destructive blow...even if it destroys the Earth right along with them.
