Prime Time...

Well NFL lovers out there. It looks like Amazon Prime has signed a deal with the NFL Network to have all Thursday games streamed through A.Prime. So if you're an Amazon Prime subscriber you will have the added coverage of Thursday night games at your finger tips. I became an A.Prime subscriber this year in January. I have thus far seen some amazing movies as well as television series. At a one time cost of $99 for the year you can't really go wrong. I'm definitely looking forward to checking out some of the games online when the season starts. :)

Ubering 08/13/2016...

Good afternoon everyone.

First and foremost the following happened at 1:00 am this morning. I was requested to pick up a gentleman by the name of Ben from an excellent restaurant here in Toledo by the name of Sakura. During the ride to his home in downtown Toledo we had shared what's appropriate for a co-workers/partner to discuss when not with the main contributor of the company present. We agreed on so many levels which led us to discuss the partnership of several businesses that are starting to sprout in downtown. There is an old building by name of "The Berdan Building" that is being renovated. Ben informed me that it will have 112 apartments and the first floor will be dedicated to retail and a restaurant. I for one think that would be excellent for any resident in the downtown area living in the building or not.

Even though the artist rendition looks great the building right now looks amazing. They are moving along quite quickly and seeing the way they work it should be done in no time at all. Ben and I had a great conversation during that ride. Driving for UBER is definitely an eye opener in meeting new people.

Tom Hardy Handles Reporter From LGBT Site When He’s Asked About His ‘Ambiguous’ Sexuality

Amazing how some reporters line up their questions in such a manner to see if the interviewee slips and responds to the question in a TMZ like moment. Look, Tom Hardy is an excellent actor, he has some movies under his belt that places him right there with some of the good ones out there now and in the past. Loved his performance when he teamed up with Joel Edgerton to do Warrior. I watchd the preview for the movie "Legend" in which Hardy plays a two part role. Yes it's new to him but he looks to have pulled it off fairly well. Keeping and eye out for this one when I see it for sale. Let me know what you think about this. Night All :) Source: The Blaze

I'm Back!

Sorry for the long long disappearance. Between not feeling well and vacation I was gone for quite a bit. Well it looks like a few things happened while I was gone. First I would like to congratulate the Detroit Tigers in making it into the World Series by shutting out the ever popular New York Yankees 4-0. I did watch the second debate between the presidential hopefuls. I would have to say that Mitt Romney won it by a slim margin. President Obama did look a lot more into it this time. My 49ers took a loss to the Giants but that's ok because tomorrow will be a good day. I am back and I hope to keep things rolling. Take care folks.

What can I say...

Well, from what I saw today it looks like the Niners are here to kick some ass. This group of guys are so synchronized it's scary. When Smith threw for a season-high 303 yards and three touchdowns and Frank Gore ran for 106 yards and a score you know the recipe is good and the cooking is under way - If you can smell where I'm coming from. The chemistry is great, the staff is great and the support is definitely there. Congrats to you all for getting an excellent win over the Bills. Up next, the Giants - let's welcome them and hand them a loss in a very classy manner.

Follow Up....

Wednesday night's Presidential Debate was definitely an event I'm glad I did not miss. I for one enjoyed watching Obama squirm while Romney kept throwing facts and figures at him. The both did a great job but I have to hand the debate win to Romney. He kept his composure and presented a firm respect for the president while handing him a can of whoop-ass. Next week's debate between the Vice President and nominee will be one I would much rather watch in its' entirety. I know for a fact Biden will find it within him to just be him and completely screw it up. Of course I'll post something after the event.

Ok, sorry for the blank day there. I was catching up with work and stuff around the house. Well it looks like tonight is the first Presidential Debate on FOX. How many of you here will be tuned in to watch and see how it turns out?.......................................
Ok not sure if you guys might but I wanted to let you guys know that I will be watching part of it to see where they stand on our still increasing unemployment figures. Some of you might find this boring and choose to watch something else. The beauty of that is that you have the freedom to do so. :)
I will chime in some more tonight - going to do some quick reading on the ins and outs for today's news.

Getting caught...

When the TSA first became a household name I knew something good will come from this group as well as something bad. Well, they have caught a few individuals with "items" that might be harmful to others over the years and for that I thank them. Then all it takes is for one knuckle-head like the guy below to give the rest of the workers a really bad name. Everyone knows that most Americans/passengers only remember the negative experiences in the airport or on the plane. They never mention the great flight they had or the great service at the gate - all you get from them when asked is "It was ok". That's it. Now of course those who watch the video will imprint the thought that ALL TSA agents are thieves. Sad folks, it's really sad.

New Rules - Are they needed or not?

The following came in from the NFL and brought to you by UPI -

NEW ORLEANS (UPI) -- NFL owners meeting in New Orleans Tuesday enacted several rule changes, including moving kickoffs from the 30- to the 35-yard line.

Players on the kicking team will only be allowed a 5-yard running start, instead of 15 yards.

However, the owners declined a recommendation by the league's competition committee to move touchbacks from the 20-yard line to the 25.

In another change, the booth official will now confirm all questionable scoring plays. Coaches will still be allowed two challenges per game, gaining a third if they are correct their first two.

The owners also acted to end confusion on penalties for dead ball fouls. The end of a half will not be extended for those infractions.

The league decreed all playing surfaces must remain grass-colored.

I can already see that the idea of giving the kicking team only five yards to run will cause a few penalties due to passing the kick-off line with it being closer than before.

I can safely assume a lot of touch-backs will be the end result based on the added five yards. The league denied the addition of five yards to the touch-back from the 20- to the 25- yard line. I can see why they kept it at the original 20. The last thing the opposing team needs is an added advantage to driving the ball to the end zone.

I will also have to agree that the field should remain green and not any other color. It was green when it all started so it should remain green from now on.

Hope and change...

Hope and change is what the Obama campaign rode on but unfortunately here in Toledo we seem to keep things the same without any strained thought. Once again we have another offer for the docks across from downtown Toledo and from what I've read/heard in other blogs (GCJ) and the many callers on the radio - it looks like we might be turning this down as well and continue to think that the city should be in the business of running a business. This city can't resist an opportunity to keep us in the depths of blight. We will dick this around for weeks, the group interested will change their minds and we will soon see matching plywood panels (like the many buildings in downtown) covering the windows of the empty restaurants and like clock work we will have the same stupid questions from elected officials i.e. "What can we do to better this city?".

Hoping for a change in the politics here in Toledo but I pretty much know the answer to that one.

Rescue Me

I started to watch Rescue Me about a month ago on Netflix. I have to admit that I did not want to try it when I first heard about it but now that I've watched season 1 I have to say this show is awesome and very well presented. Each episode leaves you wanting more and more to the point where you can't wait to watch the next episode (I space them out so that I don't watch them all at once) just to see what happens next. If you have Netflix and are on the hunt for a good show to watch please take the time and chance to watch Rescue Me.

Laimbeer seeking job in the NBA...

I found this to be a bit of a shocker (no pun intended) when I heard that Bill Laimbeer resigned as head coach of the Detroit Shocks. Bill has gained three titles in a period of six seasons so to hear him talking about entering the NBA sector was surprising especially given the fact that the last time he tried this it didn't work out so good between himself and Isiah Thomas of the Knicks. I hope he finds a good nest to chill in - it would even be nice to see him sign up with the Baby Bulls and see what chemistry he can add to those you guys.

PlayStation Home...

Well it's finally going to happen - Sony has decided to go ahead and release the online 3-D social networking service known as PlayStation Home. I remember when SEGA had their deal with certain cable companies when presenting the SEGA channel and yes I know that the two aren't the same thing but if you remember way back when the channel was introduced it lasted roughly a few months before it strted to go downhill. Some saw it as an issue with the family some said that the price that was being paid was too much especially knowing that the games offered weren't all that great.

Sony officials say they don’t expect an immediate payoff from Home. Their plan is to offer Home as a free software download to all PS3 users, and to charge gaming companies and other brands to create shops, sell goods, host events and advertise.

Now I know that I don't own a PS3 and I can mention about ten others that don't either because of the price for one of those bad boys but do they have something for those who don't have one but are devoted PlayStation fan?

It’s unclear what impact the delays will have on Home. The original plan was to have Home ready by autumn 2007. Sony Computer Entertainment chief Kaz Hirai announced the first delay in October, 2007. The company had expected Home to be ready by April of this year, but instead announced another delay. In late August, the company started inviting a limited number of users for a trial.

I guess only time will tell if this brand new venture for Sony wil help or hurt them.

Bending is not enough...

DETROIT (UPI) -- United Automobile Workers said they would rather bend than break, offering concessions to U.S. automakers on the eve of bailout hearings in Washington.

Executives from General Motors Corp, Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC were scheduled to appear at Thursday hearings to ask for about $38 billion to get them through tough times.

Meeting in Detroit Wednesday, union leaders said they would suspend the controversial "jobs bank" that pays laid off workers 85 percent of their salaries, The New York Times reported.

Union president Ron Gettelfinger also said the union would allow automakers to postpone payments to a multibillion-dollar healthcare plan for retirees.

But Washington Democrats said critical votes for a bailout were still lacking.

"It's going to take (President George) Bush and (President-elect Barack) Obama calling people," a Democratic aide told the Times.

With new business plans in hand, auto executives have said they would make further production cuts, eliminate some brands and focus on more fuel-efficient cars.

Federal assistance should be based on "a realistic plan for how we're going to make these companies viable over the long term," Obama said.

What the Unions need to do is cut back on workers as well as cutting back on the huge wage that isn't helping the company any. It's bad enough that the top three have to find ways to make their vehicles more tempting by offering delayed payments and more incentives.

Other car companies have a good car where in some cases at half the price then those offered by anyone else. How is a company going to compete if that's where the starting point is and the top three others are in dead last place. I beleive they need to fail and file for bankruptcy so that they have to be forced to sit down and trim down what they have so that they can at least have a decent run in this future vehicle race.

Matthew Drudge, raised in Takoma Park, Maryland, near Washington, DC, is an only child. His parents are Jewish liberal-Democrats who both worked for the federal government. His father Robert Drudge, a former social worker who owns the reference site www.refdesk.com and his mother, a former staff attorney for Ted Kennedy divorced when he was six. Drudge went to live with his mother. He had few friends but was an avid news reader and radio talk show fan. In his book Drudge Manifesto, Drudge reports that he "failed his Bar Mitzvah", and graduated 341st out of a class of 355 from Northwood High School in 1984, thus giving himself, in his words, a "more than adequate curriculum vitae for a post at 7-Eleven".

The Monica Lewinsky scandal was a political-sex scandal emerging from a sexual relationship between United States President Bill Clinton and a then 22-year-old White House intern, Monica Lewinsky. The news of this extra-marital affair and the resulting investigation eventually led to the impeachment of President Clinton in 1998 by the U.S. House of Representatives and his subsequent acquittal on all charges (of perjury and obstruction of justice) in a 21-day Senate trial.

News of the scandal first broke on January 17, 1998, on the Drudge Report website, which reported that Newsweek editors were sitting on a story by investigative reporter Michael Isikoff exposing the affair. Matt Drudge continues to bring stories to the spot light that sometimes either don't get mentioned or don't get enough attention. Some of his work may or may not fall under my approval stands but his information and coverage is considered to be of top quality and is respected by many.

Council Meeting...

Yesterday had to be one of the most interesting days in Council history. I sat down and watched the recording that my wife had on the meeting. It started out to be normal with the prayer and pledge to the flag. It's what happened after that that had me on the edge. I was watching with a huge concern that was mainly based on the way the group itself behaved with each other. It was business as usual until M. Ashford asked/demanded for a question to be seperated. I know very little on the inner workings and the rules of this group but what I experienced from yesterday's meeting seemed to be that some of them had trouble understanding their own rules and regulations. The only thing I have to say in regards to the meeting is that they should at some point either get together and work out the questionable points in the books and find a way for all of them to understand them accordingly. Maybe a re-education course on them ins and outs of the rules is needed.

COSI is gone...

If some of you don't know what I mean by the title, the title is in regards to a Science Museum that had a bit of trouble the past few years. They had a levy for it this past election and it went down in defeat by a large number. I didn't get the opportunity to visit the museum but from what I heard from my friends and neighbors the place was nice to visit every once in awhile but not consistently.

Most of them said that the museum needed to bring some different exhibits for the kids rather then keeping the old ones running. I even expressed that the museum should incorporate Ohio's/Toledo's CSI Unit and have a section in the museum dedicated to forensic technology where they can have either students or parents come in and get an inside look at the steps and procedures taken by the unit. They could of had a weekend program running for about a month showing others how to grid a crime scene and collect valuable evidence that can potentially solve the case in hand.

The picture you see to the right corner is that of the building in which the Science Museum is located currently. I'm not sure if anyone is interested in the spot as of yet but it is a great location for a club/restaurant. Let's see what the city decides to do with it. The blue is the roof of the museum so you can see the size in which would be available to a new business.

Extra Security...

A different look at it...

When I watched this video I began to wonder how many restaurants here in Toledo throw away good food in order to make room for the next delivery? What Ruthy Woodring is and has been doing for quite some time now can only be seen as wonderful, not only is she helping those who aren't able gather their own food but she's doing her part to make sure these items don't end up in some landfill. I want to send a special thank you to her and her friends who take the time to make sure that food like this isn't wasted. Actually, if our city officials can talk to local businesses about their daily habit we might be able to decrease the hunger numbers by about 20 to 25 percent. When my wife and I participated in the annual Tent City in downtown Toledo I had the chance to sit down and talk to a gentleman that saw the annual event very uplifting and helpful to those who feel there is no hope for them. If you're a restaurant owner or a worker and you're reading this please take the added time to keep that extra food that you normally throw out and contact your local organization that provides food to the homeless and see if they can distribute that food to people that very same night.

Saving that buck for presents...

The one thing I love the most is the fact that I can save a lot of money buying the same products that most grocery stores have at a higher price. The video link below has an inside look on how you can save hundreds of dollars each month. The one thing that I know that we don't do is buy product that is ready to go, for example - precooked meats, sliced cheese sold in quarter pieces, prepared mashed potatoes etc. Well I am kind of guilty on that last one, I love to buy the mashed potatoes already mashed for me so that I can cut some time during prep work for dinner. With the cut down on foods that are ready to go you will easily find yourself saving lots at month's end. This post is up so that in case my brother happens to be checking me online he might see this and think twice about buying that easy meal that takes seconds to prep.
