Not too bad...
Well, I would like to start out by saying that I am not the best dancer in the world and you wouldn't see me in Dancing with the Stars any time soon. What I can tell you is that if I'm challenged to a duel in dancing then I will do my best to win. My daughter bought Just Dance 2 for the Wii and not only is she good at it but my wife and other daughter are as well. I tried a couple of the songs but nothing really hit me as "the" song to dominate with until I heard Power by Snap. Boy did my old school senses come up from the grave. I jammed and shook my tail like no one can. Now we have a date scheduled to challenge each other this Saturday afternoon. Wish me luck - I'll try to bring the trophy home (no trophy exists).

Figures...
Just when I want to post more details on the day to day happenings around here my computer decides to take a vacation aka breaks. Well after going through some withdrawal I managed to tweak my daughter's pc so that it functions the way I like it. She has a pretty new computer but she bought herself a laptop so the pc sat in a corner untouched. It turns out that her computer functions better with my video card then what it did before. So, like I promised before - I will be posting a bit more often just to keep this fresh around here. I am going to cut and paste this post and insert it into my other blog so that the readers there know where I have been.

Trying to make some extra money...
Well this morning could not of been any more entertaining. I would like to first mention that I have been collecting a lot of metal materials like aluminum cans and other aluminum items so that I can take them into the recycling center and make some money. Well I have managed to hold on to about 26lbs of cans and about 108lbs of aluminum thus far. Well after getting it all to fit in my Camry I headed out to the center - along the way I happened to meet an interesting character. The character would be an unnamed rock/boulder - it made a really close introduction by scrapping under my car and causing what was a small gas leak turn into an all out gas leak. There I was trying to dispose of all this aluminum and the smell of gasoline can be picked by everyone there which of course had to inform me that I had a leak. DUH! I finally got the cans in one bin and the other material in another.
The cans were 26lbs for a huge payout of $10 (sarcastic face of course)! The other material was not processed because since most of it looked the same the center was cautious and asked me to get a letter head from my employer (they gave me the scrapped pieces) and bring it back so that I can get payed. Now here I was with a slip to fill out and a pocket with a fresh scented $10 bill in it and a huge concern if I was going to make it to the gas station or was I going to have to hike it to get some gas. Well the car did make it to the station but not before giving me some scary moments. That's right, the car stalled twice - once at a light and the other was right before I pulled into the gas station.
I managed to coast it in right up to a pump. The smell of gasoline was of course with me when I got out to pay for some more. I put in five bucks worth in hopes that it wouldn't be on the road immediately - I was able to drop it off at Doug's Automotive on South Avenue in Toledo. There the car sits until Doug looks at it tomorrow. So what started out to be a money maker ended up being what might be a large expense. Moral of the story - don't meet any strange "characters" on your way out because it will cost you one way or another. Your best bet is to swerve away.

Follow up...
UPDATE:
Well the pool is still filling up which I think will continue until about 9:30 or so. My two daughters were in and out of the pool while it was filling cooling off from the hot sun and warm air. Heck the dogs even joined in on the fun. We had to retrain them on how to stay afloat and paddle otherwise they (we have two dogs) will drop to the bottom like a couple of rocks. They were none too happy having to go around with wet doggy hair for about a half hour but they did have fun in the pool even though it was shallow enough for them to walk/swim around.

Out yesterday but in today...
I apologize for not putting something up yesterday - everything got really hectic at work so I wasn't able to put some time aside to post anything that was going on with me. Now today is a different day - woke up this morning wanting to do nothing but chill all day and do absolutely nothing. Well that lasted about two hours before I got bored and started my usual chores around the house. The one task I was not looking into starting today was the re-cleaning of the pool. My wife called me from a picnic that she was attending and asked if I could clean it because it looks like it will be rather warm the next few days.
Upon looking into the pool I really wanted to call her back and say that it was beyond hope but I didn't want this small chore hold me back from accomplishing yet another task. I managed to get it completely cleaned in about an hour and 45 minutes. Now the pool is filling up and my daughter and I are impatiently waiting to jump in and go for a nice fresh swim. I believe that my tan will be nice and dark by the end of tomorrow. Talk to you guys later.

Are you kidding me?!?
The linked title above will direct you to an article I read that a woman filed a lawsuit against Quaker Oats and their name brand Captain Crunch because she thought for many years that she was truly eating actual fruit pieces in the berries cereal. Okay I know that times are tight and that this might of been an easy win given the history of some of the judges in California but come on really - filing a lawsuit because there wasn't any actual fruit in the berries cereal is just insane let alone embarrassing to her and her family. Just when you thought things can't get any more weirder poof out comes this story. Some people just need a break away from the rainbow colored pills and I'm not talking about Skittles. The judge isn't mentioned in the article but I would like to send a huge Thank You for doing the right thing and tossing this suit out the window.

A story worth telling...
No Speak English
A Russian woman married a Canadian gentleman and they lived happily ever after in Toronto. However, the poor lady was not very proficient in English, but did manage to communicate with her husband. The real problem arose whenever she had to shop for groceries.
One day, she went to the butcher and wanted to buy chicken legs. She didn't know how to put forward her request, and in desperation, clucked like a chicken and lifted up her skirt to show her thighs. Her butcher got the message, and gave her the chicken legs.
Next day she needed to get chicken breasts, again she didn't know how to say it, and so she clucked like a chicken and unbuttoned her blouse to show the butcher her breasts. The butcher understood again, and gave her some chicken breasts.
On the 3rd day, the poor lady needed to buy sausages. Unable to find a way to communicate this, she brought her husband to the store...

What were you thinking? Hellooooooo, her husband speaks English!

What do the Dallas Cowboys and Jimmy John's have in common?
VOTER FRAUD - Well not them per say but it looks like the group known as ACORN has done some work in helping people register to vote and within the 5000 or so entries it looks like a good chuck of those submitted may be disqualified. I'm sorry but when the reporter on the video that's linked at the bottom of this post finds one that says Jimmy John's that's when I say that some people are about as dumb as a box or buttons. The address was in fact the address to one of the JJ franchises. The fact that ACORN stands behind their quality check and still has that many go through simply tells me that they are not truly checking them or if they are then they have a crew of dunmb asses. Watch the video by CNN and see it for yourself.

Can you hear me now?
First Public Transatlantic Telephone Call (1927)The telephone has come a long way since its earliest incarnation. The switches used to route phone calls, which were once electromechanical, have now been replaced by digital electronic switching systems that make features like "caller ID," "call waiting," and "call forwarding" possible. Cordless phones, cell phones, and satellite phones have also changed the way that people communicate. I can remember when my mom had a rotary phone in the kitchen. The thing weighed like 6 pounds and for some reason red was the popular color to have. At times I felt like Batman waiting for the red phone to light up when the Commish would need me to save the day. Also when calling the relatives during the holidays it felt like I was waiting in line during a huge sale right before the store opened. When calls were placed to Boston, my aunts and uncles had numbers that started with nines so by the time you got to the last number you were pretty bored watching the dial go back to the beginning. Phones have come a long way since it's birth especially when you compare the old with the new.

Why do it?!?
I have seen many tattoos in my lifetime thus far heck I have even seen some that look really good that they should be put on canvas and then framed for all to see. What these guys are doing is something I like to call "UM Dumb". These guys apparently don't understand the concept of tattoos. I can understand the love of family and the love of your friends and crew but to have these marks on your face for all to see is pretty much moronic. All this is going to do is prove that even in prison these guys aren't all that bright about what is right for themselves.11/23/2007
Something worth adding...
If we can only add this piece to some of the games throughout the football season I'm sure Pepsi will do better on a sales point of view. There's nothing like some eye candy during the halftime show especially when it's those three. As a side note to this - I found it to be a little bit "exciting" seeing the three of them in hot looking gladiator outfits. You gotta love commercial producers and costume designers when they produce such commercials.

Time is precious...
Work
The population of this country is 237 million.
104 million are retired.
That leaves 133 million to do the work.
There are 85 million in school, which leaves 48 million to do the work.
Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government, leaving 19 million to do the work.
2.8 million are in the Armed Forces, which leaves 16.2 million work.
Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for State and City Governments and that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.
At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals, leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.
Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.
That leaves just two people to do the work.
You and me.
And you're sitting at your computer reading this stupid post wasting time...

4 Houses to visit...
I received a flyer today and on it I saw what looks to be a very disturbed clown. It was a flyer for the Chainsaw Creek Haunted Attractions at the Westfiled Franklin Park. I haven't been to a haunted house in years and from the looks of these four types it looks like I'm not going with anyone any time soon. My daughters won't be brave enough to come in with me and I know that my wife doesn't really particularlly care for haunted houses. So my visiting days are not near enough. :)

Boeing's bolts are short...

NEW YORK (Reuters) — Boeing's chief executive pointed the finger at Alcoa and others for the lack of bolts that has delayed the first flight of its new 787 Dreamliner and threatens its delivery schedule. When the introduction of the Dreamliner was made a few months ago I was talking with my wife about the jobs and added work hours this bad boy is going to create. We jokingly said that even with the huge announcement made that the supplies for this baby would probably be short in supply. Well here we are a few down the road and now Boeing has to postpone their delivery date to who knows what. Well at least the jobs and workers will still be there waiting for these bolts to arrive.
The shortage of aluminum and titanium bolts — known as fasteners in the aerospace industry — has been publicly discussed by Boeing for six months or so, but the problem is still not completely solved, Boeing CEO Jim McNerney said at an investor presentation Tuesday.

Gaming causes death...
I began reading this article and my first reaction was "How long before parents in the US use this unfortunate event to further ban video games whether they're pc or console". This guy could of gotten up at any time and bought himself a damn soda or even a damn water bottle. The game he was playing could not of been that frickin good that he couldn't even ask someone to get him a drink. He must of died at some point in the game, he could of thn used that time to refresh himself - or is this story going to say that he was that good that for three days he kept winning, well now the guy is dead and is game over for real.

Nice Cans...
No this post is not sexual in nature, the title is just a teaser so that you can take some time to read this post. I have talked to my wife and she and I have agreed to purchase two Toledo Pride trash cans. They have this look of arrogance as well as hey look I'm the only red can out here. We have to place an order so that we can pick these things up some time this week. Yeah I know that some of you out there think that buying one these is completely dumb and stupid but then again you have a right to an opinion and that's pretty much it :) We figured why not buy something like this and show that even though some politicians aren't listening to us we are still proud of our city.

Saturday Photo Hunt - Happy
This picture was taken by my wife during a Dragon Boat event here in Toledo. Although the dragon head looks happy, he is unaware of the countless amounts of rookies who are going to paddle the boat that will he will be placed on, so this shot may have been the last moment this guy felt happy.

What an idiot...

The things these people do for entertainment just boggles my mind. Look at the image to the right and tell me what you see wrong. That's right - this idiot decides to have a stroll with the bulls during the run and some how is shocked that he has about 12 inches of horn inside of his leg. Is there anything else these guys can be doing other then trying to get away from pissed-off bulls? Now this moron has to be treated for god knows what and I'm pretty sure his medical coverage will not cover stupidity.
Frikin moron...

A quiet day...
Today has to be the most quietest day so far, it is a bit cooler outside then normal but it still feels good. My wife is currently sick and has been trying to stay warm all day. I spent my morning mowing the lawn and then spent the early afternoon cleaning the pool. It has been a pretty uneventful day and it's just beginning. I have to give my dog a bath because the poor thing is smelly pretty bad and my wonderful kids can't find the time to help out the little pup. Well I'm going to go now and finish a few other things before I take on the mutt and all her wonders.
