Saturday Photo Hunt - Important

The gentleman you see to the right is Mr. Ken Leslie. He is the a man that considers himself just another person doing the right thing for those in need. Ken, my wife and myself have had a few meetings and get togethers in the past and are planning to continue because the 'important' thing is to remember that there are homeless people out there both veteran and non-veteran. He runs a site by the name 1Matters.org. If you would like to get involved or if you are interested in what's going on locally then please visit his site and view the many stories entered and see where the next step will be in the near future. I'm Miguel Roman and I matter - my fellow Americans that are homeless matter even more. This gentleman is very Important to the needy and the deserving.

Saturday Photo Hunt - Skinny

Seeing that the theme for today was skinny I quickly remembered this shot. What you're looking at is the main builing in downtown Toledo 'One Government Center'. If the name didn't give it away, this building houses almost all of Toledo's politicians. City Council, Mayor's Spokesperson even the mayor himself. I chose this one because if you were ever in need to exit this building during an emergency I don't think through the window is a wise choice because they are too skinny. Saturday Photo Hunt - Small

This entry is only one I can submit for today's theme without upsetting my other family members. This is a picture of Annica my grand-daughter and me at the hospital a day after she was born. I chose this picture because this will be the only time where this cute adorable child will be small because before you and I know it the small child will go from small to tall in no time. Then comes the wish lists and the trips to the zoo and the museum. I can't wait!

The stair case you see to the right is just one percent of the how many my family and I climbed and came down that Fall afternoon last year. These stairs along with the thousands of others that followed are located at Old Man's Cave in Southern Ohio by Hocking Hills. If you're ever in the area please visit and see for yourself the beauty of this area. Also make sure to bring a good driver because the hills there are awesome to drive on.

The picture you see to the right is that of my niece Jasmine. This was taken a few years back but I can remember that day like it was yesterday. The temp was set to be in the mid 80s and the humidity was not that far behind. I was at my mom's house when all of a sudden Jasmine began crying and screaming very loud. We couldn't understand why because she was in the shade under a tree and for some reason she wanted to be in the sun light so we moved her and placed her on the deck. She began crying again this time it seemed to be louder then before. Well my sister began removing clothing from her and would you know it, Jasmine was too hot to have any clothes on. Believe it or not but she fell asleep right after her shorts were removed. I guess the next time an infant starts crying very loud quickly remove their clothes.

This truck although not a classic yet like the entry that tnchick submitted but I hope that it becomes one as the years go on. I have a story of this truck to tell future generations just like all of those who have set their eyes upon it who attended the ceremony. This truck was part of history during the unveiling of the new bridge here in Toledo, Ohio an I intend on remembering it as long as life and god allow me to.

The images you see to the right are of some very strong and sturdy curves. The curvy individuals (in circumference) are part of the new bridge that opened up this year here in Toledo. I was able to attend the ceremony that morning. It turned out to be a wonderful day an it felt good to be part of history. The sight of all of those who took the time to see it was awesome.

The image you see to the right is an original architectural piece for this building in the heart of downtown Toledo, OH. I came across this beauty when I went on one of my walks through the downtown area. I have a huge collection of photos of other structures that this city has to offer. The piece of 'paper' you see at the top was printed for my wife when she performed her first live blog coverage of our County Commissioner Debate. She was given a special seat so that she had a close view of the whole event. I was very proud of her for being the first in our city to live blog the debate. The following image you see is that of the newspaper company she works for, she adds a special and intriguing column each and every Sunday called 'Blog It!'

The image to the right might not be a quick look into music but if you look at what my daughter is holding you will notice that she is holding onto a warthog and for those of you out there that know what a warthog is you should get that catchy music in your head right about now. It was Opening Day and one of the local radio stations was having their annual morning show at the Tony Packos restaurant in downtown Toledo. The 'two' gentlemen in the photo are friends of my wife and the shot was taken just moments after they signed their 'two' buns. These buns are a famous thing that Tony Packos does when celebrities come by, Jamie Farr is known to have a signed bun on one of T.P.'s restaurant.

This image although it looks very unique and was made specifically for the Mud Hens it still had a very familiar 'funky' smell coming out of the sides. The smell was a bit strong, so strong that even though I was far from it it still lingered in the air.

Photo Hunt #59 - Colorful

Thank you all for coming by. I apologize for not participating the past few weeks. Today's theme is colorful. This came as a relief to me because I have three pictures that didn't really have a place other than showing them to the family. Well since the theme is colorful you can see that the benches below have just that and then some. The city decided to re-do a section of downtown to bring it up a bit. Well this will be my first attempt at trying an online scavenger hunt. I wish all of you who are participating good luck. I can sure use a new Xbox but then I'll have to buy games for it.
