Still at it...

A late entry for the day but I had to make sure something went up today. I'm still heading forward with the workout routine. Sore but it feels good. Weird, a good sore being welcomed hmm. It was sad to see my 49ers lose this past Sunday but it looked like a few other folks had a bad Sunday as well (I won't say any names - but you know who you are). Kinda busy at work today, I wasn't able to post something at lunch time but I will try to put something up tomorrow. Good night folks. Roman

Not too bad...

Well, I would like to start out by saying that I am not the best dancer in the world and you wouldn't see me in Dancing with the Stars any time soon. What I can tell you is that if I'm challenged to a duel in dancing then I will do my best to win. My daughter bought Just Dance 2 for the Wii and not only is she good at it but my wife and other daughter are as well. I tried a couple of the songs but nothing really hit me as "the" song to dominate with until I heard Power by Snap. Boy did my old school senses come up from the grave. I jammed and shook my tail like no one can. Now we have a date scheduled to challenge each other this Saturday afternoon. Wish me luck - I'll try to bring the trophy home (no trophy exists).

Getting there...

Well, it's week two and I've trying this new workout that makes me focus on my actual workout and not how much I can do in a short period of time. Each rep I do I have to slow it down and really focus on the movement. I can honestly say that it feels great after my first set. Bench pressing is tough already but adding the slow factor really makes you feel the burn.
Till next time

Helpful tips...

The more I read on what's best for a great and successful workout the more I want to add to my routine. I just read a small tid bit on the Men's Health website that could help me when working out. I have had it wrong for quite a long time now. I had it fixed in my mind that when I wear "sweat pants & sweat shirts" that I was doing the right thing. Well it turns out that it would be better to switch to synthetic clothing so that the sweat that pours out of me won't weigh me down even more. I will try this out tonight and see what the difference would feel like. I will post tomorrow as to the results of my workout.

A good deed...

Yesterday was a day that will go down in history as the day that my daughter has gone off the deep end and bought herself a dog. That's right folks a DOG, okay maybe it's not the end of the world but I thought she was going to get a dog that would be more suitable for her apartment. What you see to the left (although cute) is everything but small. The new dog goes by the name Alma, a beautiful name but I'm thinking it will change once the her personality comes out full force. Congrats Emily on getting a good looking dog and of course thank you for rescuing one from the pound. I love you and I hope Alma shows you how much she loves you for freeing her from the cages.

Great results and a great team...

NEW ORLEANS - Ray Allen scored 28 points and LeBron James 27, powering the East over the West 134-128 in the NBA All-Star Game Sunday. Cleveland's James -- who just missed a triple-double with nine assists and eight rebounds and scored the go-ahead points -- was named MVP of the game for the second time. HE previously won the honor in 2006.

Allen, of the Boston Celtics, sank three three-point shots in the closing stages of the game at the New Orleans Arena. Orlando's Dwight Howard made all seven of his shots from the field and added 16 points for the Eastern Conference. Miami's Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh of Toronto added 14 points each.

Denver's Carmelo Anthony, Portland's Brandon Roy and Amare Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns each scored 18 points for the Western Conference. Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant played about three minutes at the start of the contest. Bryant, who has a torn ligament on the little finger of his right hand, is considering whether to have surgery -- which would keep him out of the Lakers' lineup for six weeks.
While watching the game I found myself seeing that the East Team would be an awesome team to have. The way they were able to flow and make things happen and completing the drive and push just made me watch even closer. I would of loved to see James get that triple double during the game because that would of definitely put him in the bracket with all the other great players especially in the All Star Weekend. Great game fellas.

Joe and his frisbee...

Yesterday I spent a good hour and a half with my daughter Emily and her boyfriend Joe at one of Joe's Frisbee Tournaments. I did not know at first what this sport entailed but after watching him and his teammates take control of the game I quickly understood how the sport worked. It began at a slow pace because it was 9:00am in the morning so they haven't really had a chance to warm up just yet., but by the time they reached 4 points they had things rolling pretty smooth. The following paragraph(s) will introduce how the game is played.
How to Play

The game is played with two teams of seven players, who throw the disc from teammate to teammate until a player catches it in the opposing team’s end zone to score a point. Games are played to 15 points and usually keep players moving for an hour and a half.

Players must stop running when they catch the disc and they can take a maximum of 10 seconds to decide which teammate can successfully catch the disc and carry the play toward the end zone.

Ultimate Frisbee combines the continuous play of soccer with the rapid direction changes of basketball and the aerial passes of football. The big difference is that ultimate Frisbee is a noncontact sport. Participating is easy and all you need is workout clothing, a pair of good running shoes or cross-trainers, and of course, a Frisbee.

If you would like added details on the complete package of this extreme sport then please visit the following site to get a true understanding.
This is an update to the event that took place on Sunday... Joe and his team won all of their tournament games, so a special congrats goes out to the team for achieving those wins in a strong and convincing manner. Good job you guys.

What the heck?!?!

While talking to a coworker today he informed me a new thing or craze that is currently catching the attention of many bikers as well as skiers. This new hobby/toy is called the KTrak, this little and yet interesting upgrade turns your bicycle into something that I recall seeing in a movie that starred John Cusack. Anyways this device allows you to go skying while still enjoying the fundamentals of bike riding. Check out their video and see for yourself how this gadget works.

I'm Sorry What?

Sorry folks for not having something up in the past few days, I've had a few things to take care of as well of some thoughts going through my head that I have yet to resolve. I've had a sore shoulder for about a week and a day now. I have tried pretty much everything - heating pad, pain pills, ibuprofen even strenuous massages and still the pain persists. I hope it's nothing serious, I got it about two days before my brother came to visit - all I did was get up in the morning to answer the phone but I guess the manner in which I got out of bed is what resulted in this week plus pain. I don't want to go in to the hospital for something this simple, I'm just going to have to buck up and find the right antidote to take care of this.

Be a Hero...

This post although hits really close to home I'm afraid for some of my friends and family members it's a bit too late to help. I have spoken to them about their issue several times but most of them would not seek the extra help, others have taken my advice and have signed up to clinics in the past to search for that existance that once drove their hearts. I have posted in the past here about some of my experiences with drug addiction that existed in my past, my point of doing so is to make aware of those viewing that even they don't think their addicted to the substance but in reality they really can't live with out it. While visiting 1800nodrugs.com I have quickly noticed that there is a specific page titled "Links of Interest" that would help a whole lot of people identify their issue and be able to pin point where to go for the additional help that is needed. Most other family members and friends out there don't usually know where to go to find what drug addiction treatment program would be just right for the situation.
If your reading this and you suffer from an addiction and you know that by going to your loved ones things could get worse as far as them not understanding that being upset at you won't exactly help you then please feel free to visit today and navigate through the user friendly site and locate exactly what you're looking for. Trying to convince myself...

I just spent the past two days convincing myself that I can lose fifteen pounds by the end of July. I am still working out but the cravings have yet to slow down. I hope to be a little lighter this year because I'm almost pushing 295. To me that's a really high number. When I graduated high school I was an amazing 245. I have some features that look good but my over all look is pathetic. I know this takes time to work but I feel at times that this is all a waste of time. I will still how ever continue the routine because I know good things don't come free.

Still a Journey...

I am still trying to keep this diet/workout routine going. It gets a little hard sometimes because my habit of eating when not hungry still exists. Last night I was proud myslef because I only had a total of 1877 calories for the entire day. That was pretty awesome. I feel a little better now and I also feel lighter on my feet. I am going to try and buy a scale this weekend so that I can keep track at home as well.

Pass me the Tea please...

How many of you out there are trying to lose weight but can't seem to find something else to drink other than water? Well this post will direct you to a list of teas that can be used for just that. Black Tea is one that I haven't tried just yet, but if it tastes anywhere near Green Tea then count me in. I have done some research on the WuLong Tea and from what I gather it can help you increase your metabolism, lose weight, lessening the effects of aging, and increasing resistance to cancer. Now I am a bit skeptical when it comes to something that can increase my metabolism and yet have little if any caffeine in it. Being the adventuresome person that I am I am going to purchase some of the WuLong Tea and create a process of succession and see if in fact it can quicken the weight loss aspect. I have been working out now for about a month and I'm finding it a bit boring drinking only water every day. This tea might help me feel better as well especially when it comes to the office. I work in a warehouse environment and it's important to keep an alert mind as well as an active body. With the WuLong Tea I'm hoping that it would help my daily performance, this would also be great when having to do yard work. Visit today and read through the list and see which one would suit you the best.

It's in the list...

Encyclocentral.com has a huge selection of information that can and will appeal to anyone who is interested in knowing just a little more. Parenting is one of the categories at this site, it has info on some celebrities such as Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez and even George Lopez. I have also found out that the herbal product Ginsana is purely meant for the dynamic and the active people. I am not really active but I'm definitely trying. Visit today and search through the many categories that interest you.

Feeling tired but healthy

Tired can be the most used word when avoiding something that involves either too much time or too much effort. I just got done working out for about an hour and ten minutes. My usual workout routine only lasts for an hour but I decided to increase it by ten minutes. Let me tell you that I feel real good right now and if this is how I'm going to feel then I think I might increase it by another ten minutes. Well I have to hope that I meet my goal by the desired date of July 20th.

A Zoo Trip with my better half...

Today was spend some time with my wife day. Well actually everyday is spend some time with my day, yes I'm that needy.
:)
We haven't been to the Zoo in about two to three years, There were some changes to it and I found myself feeling like a young kid again. Walking to each exhibit became more and more interesting. Our first stop was on the side where we parked the car, these bald eagles were absolutely beautiful. The look on on them reflect Pride and Leadership. Our second stop involved a few tigers that didn't feel up to performing for anyone. The next station had a little more then we expected. Just before approaching the penguin tank two ducks flew down and landed on the water, my wife and I thought that they were just a little too low and very close to other visitors. Well the reason for this outrageous behavior was answered rather quickly, the two began to perform something that definitely was not allowed especially in the penguin tank - let's just leave it at that :) We enjoyed the our visit to the zoo, we hope that the next time we go the zoo they will have the polar bears available for viewing. I did get a chance to visit one of my wife's favorite exhibit - The Bird House. I tried to get a lot of shots of the chirping bunch but wasn't able to get them to sit still except for this one.
The one disappointing moment well actually the first disappointment was that I did not want my wife to get something to eat there because like an idiot I told her that the food there would be way over priced. So I blew an awesome opportunity to spend some time with her and at the same time give the two of us a break from walking. So yes I'm a jerk. The second disappointment was the Africa experience. Yes they had some animals but it didn't live up to the hype that the commercial had you believe. I did take some shots but none were really neat to post. Now I did take a picture of a lion. Yes the lion wasn't real but it did look awesome. Now the following picture is some action that I would of enjoyed but I know the zoo wouldn't of allowed it. Click here. So in a nut shell that was our experience at the zoo for 2007. Now the next tim we go we will have our youngest daughter with us so you might see some cute shots of her as well as some of the attractions, and yes I'm already expecting to walk out of there with a life size stuffed polar bear.
:)
