Ubering 08/13/2016...

Good afternoon everyone.

First and foremost the following happened at 1:00 am this morning. I was requested to pick up a gentleman by the name of Ben from an excellent restaurant here in Toledo by the name of Sakura. During the ride to his home in downtown Toledo we had shared what's appropriate for a co-workers/partner to discuss when not with the main contributor of the company present. We agreed on so many levels which led us to discuss the partnership of several businesses that are starting to sprout in downtown. There is an old building by name of "The Berdan Building" that is being renovated. Ben informed me that it will have 112 apartments and the first floor will be dedicated to retail and a restaurant. I for one think that would be excellent for any resident in the downtown area living in the building or not.

Here is what the building looked like right before they started the work. Berdan A

Here is the proposed look after the renovations. Berdan B

Even though the artist rendition looks great the building right now looks amazing. They are moving along quite quickly and seeing the way they work it should be done in no time at all. Ben and I had a great conversation during that ride. Driving for UBER is definitely an eye opener in meeting new people.

Have a safe weekend everyone. :)

We must remember...

As most of you may have heard, there have been some amazing breakthroughs this past month in linking certain genes to Alzheimer's, but there is still a lot of work to be done. This year, the first of the Boomer Generation turns 65. To bring urgently-needed attention to the risk facing the Boomers, Alzheimer's Association released a groundbreaking study, Generation Alzheimer's: The Defining Disease of the Baby Boomers.

The information you read is just the beginning of what has been discovered. Please take a few minutes of your time and do some homework on the ever growing problem of Alzheimer's.

I have won...

Well after a few days of trying to find the right distributor of Dogtags I have found just the right company that can produce the amount of tags we need with what we want them to say on them. Please visit them today and place your order. I currently have a few in mind for my crew. Also remember that if you in bulk (more then a few) you can save a lot on the cost of each tag made. Enjoy and remember to check with your friends and family as to what they want the tags to say.

Trading for a future...

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. Marcus Williams, temporarily replacing Jason Kidd, scored six of his 25 points in overtime Wednesday, leading New Jersey past Chicago 110-102.

After the multi-player trade that sent Kidd to Dallas this week, the Nets plan to use newly acquired Devin Harris as their point guard. But with Harris out of action with an ankle injury, Williams filled in and produced a season-high point total. He made nine of 18 shots from the field, including three of five from three-point range. Vince Carter also delivered a season-best 33 points, helping the Nets to their fourth win in five games. Richard Jefferson added 24 points.

Chicago, losers of three out of four, was led by 17 points from Joe Smith -- one of eight Bulls to score in double figures. Carter made a free throw with 49 seconds left in the fourth period to tie it and neither team could score another point in regulation.

Having Chicago lose by that small margin isn't too bad but it's a loss nonetheless. After the trades between Chicago and Cleveland I'm looking forward to an interesting outcome for the second half of the season. It was tough lossing Wallace but with the new guys in play maybe we can get a wave of talents together and become "The" team to beat.

Civil Right's member Jackie Robinson...

Jackie Robinson Retires (1957)
Robinson, a vocal member of the Civil Rights movement, was the first African-American baseball player in the modern major leagues and the first African American to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. In 1949, he led the National League in both stolen bases and batting average and was named its most valuable player. In recognition of his accomplishments both on the field and off, Major League Baseball retired Robinson's number in 1972.

Jack Roosevelt Robinson (1919-72), the first black man to "officially" play in the big leagues in the 20th century, possessed enormous physical talent and a fierce determination to succeed. In the course of a distinguished 10-year career beginning in 1947, Robinson led the Brooklyn Dodgers to six National League titles and one victorious World Series. Beyond his many and stellar baseball feats, Jackie Robinson went on to champion the cause of civil rights when he retired from the game. Pleas visit his site and get a better understanding on the foundation that was created in his name. You can also get a detailed list of the history of Mr. Jack Robinson by visiting this site.

COSI is gone...

If some of you don't know what I mean by the title, the title is in regards to a Science Museum that had a bit of trouble the past few years. They had a levy for it this past election and it went down in defeat by a large number. I didn't get the opportunity to visit the museum but from what I heard from my friends and neighbors the place was nice to visit every once in awhile but not consistently.

Most of them said that the museum needed to bring some different exhibits for the kids rather then keeping the old ones running. I even expressed that the museum should incorporate Ohio's/Toledo's CSI Unit and have a section in the museum dedicated to forensic technology where they can have either students or parents come in and get an inside look at the steps and procedures taken by the unit. They could of had a weekend program running for about a month showing others how to grid a crime scene and collect valuable evidence that can potentially solve the case in hand.

The picture you see to the right corner is that of the building in which the Science Museum is located currently. I'm not sure if anyone is interested in the spot as of yet but it is a great location for a club/restaurant. Let's see what the city decides to do with it. The blue is the roof of the museum so you can see the size in which would be available to a new business.

Visiting the BIG HOUSE!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending a Michigan football game and let me tell you that it was worth it from beginning to end. I parked in the Brown Lot which cost us about $15 bucks, they offered those who parking there a shuttle ride to the stadium. It was an enjoyable ride going through one of the golf courses. Another thing that I noticed is that all Michigan fans had a great personality and sense of humor a great bunch to have met personally. The game itself was awesome, as you all might know Michigan won over Eastern Michigan 33 - 22. It felt great being there and witnessing a Big House game first hand. I took lots of photos and created a video stream so that you can see what I saw. Enjoy and have a great weekend.

A great idea...

This father definitely gets my support 100%. He is actually finding a solution for what is currently a problem in just about any school. Columbine was a tragic event and then watching the Virginia Tech terror unfold was just enough for most parents out there. This father will not wait for some nut job to take his kid's life if something horrible was to happen at their school. Most people believe that he is cashing in on a paranoid-able situation, all I have to say is that when the children of those who don't like this idea are involved in a scenario where this pack would come in handy and all they have is a clear view of an individual with a cold heart pointing their gun at them please do not come crying afterwards saying that you should bought one because by then it will not do you any good.

Can I Borrow $225,000?

The title to this post sounds a bit extreme but if I were to live in that part of New York then that's what I would be asking for because there is no way that I would pay that much for a parking spot.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Parking spaces in New York cost as much as $225,000 and could soon be going higher still, putting the cost for the prime spots above the price tag of the typical U.S. home price.

Manhattan real estate agent Tom Postilio said there is a waiting list of seven or eight people hoping to pay $225,000 for one of five private parking spaces that has been approved in the basement of 246 West 17th Street, a 34-unit condo development scheduled for completion next January.

If the money that these few people have is burning a hole in their pockets the please by all means send me the money and I will be sure to save you a spot here in Toledo if you were to visit in the near future. You can send it under a title like "The Bettering of Roman Fund". I would gladly take the money and make necessary improvements and I will also make sure to send a special thank you letter and an update of what's going on.
:)

Chasing the Dream...

I once had a dream of having my own rental shop. Yeah that's right a rental shop, like a movie rental shop. Back when I was 21 I had a huge collection of both video games as well as movies. In order for this to take place I would of had to empty my basement out completely and plan a layout that would be both inviting as well as comfortable. Well this dream fell short because not many people wanted to rent video tapes, they were more interested in the DVD aspect of renting and since I didn't have any at the time I couldn't really open up a shop and not offer what people would want first hand. That's what I called a home based business opportunity that did not take place. Today I have a slightly different take on the rental world, I am deciding on a new method of renting movies and games. It hit me a few years ago when I went to the bank and then to the movie store. I wondered why hasn't anyone done it yet, why hasn't anyone combined the two together? No not an ATM at the store, but why not have the same vacuum tubes that are used at the banks to exchange information used instead for the rental process. It's just a thought I've had for quite a while now.
