Wow, are you serious...

This story through me for a loop. A pissed off one that is. After reading the article I found myself really disappointed in how the Pentagon is demanding a return on the bonuses given to the men and women who served our country. The idea of doing such a thing is beyond insanity. How many of you reading this post have asked yourself the following - (College loans are being erased/forgiven - why not this as well). I definitely thought of that the moment I read the first paragraph in the story. If the recruiters failed to distribute the funds properly then it should be identified and corrected if such an event like this were to ever occur once more. Check out the article here and let me know what your comments are below.

Can't wait...

Well the 49ers handed out a good old fashion butt kicking this past Sunday (48-3) against Tampa Bay. The game was awesome to watch on my new 43" Plasma. The colors were really bright and of course the action was sweet. Well the Lions won on Monday night against the Bears which puts them at 5-0. Yes, like many of you out there wondering "Where the heck did this team come from"
If i'm not mistaken I think these two teams meet up next Sunday at 1:00pm. You can safely assume that I will not be that far from the screen when this game comes on. I wish them both the best but of course I'll be rooting for my Niners.

We must remember...

As most of you may have heard, there have been some amazing breakthroughs this past month in linking certain genes to Alzheimer's, but there is still a lot of work to be done. This year, the first of the Boomer Generation turns 65. To bring urgently-needed attention to the risk facing the Boomers, Alzheimer's Association released a groundbreaking study, Generation Alzheimer's: The Defining Disease of the Baby Boomers.

The information you read is just the beginning of what has been discovered. Please take a few minutes of your time and do some homework on the ever growing problem of Alzheimer's.

I have won...

Well after a few days of trying to find the right distributor of Dogtags I have found just the right company that can produce the amount of tags we need with what we want them to say on them. Please visit them today and place your order. I currently have a few in mind for my crew. Also remember that if you in bulk (more then a few) you can save a lot on the cost of each tag made. Enjoy and remember to check with your friends and family as to what they want the tags to say.

The crew...

Last night's meeting with the guys in the clan went well. We have decided to seek nice looking dogtags for the top members of the clan. The three admins will be searching the web for great webstores that would allow us to customize the tags with our own wording. I wish the other two admins good luck. The dead line to finding the right store is tomorrow by 6:00pm EST.
Wish me luck

Are you kidding me?!?!?!?

After finding out that this past Saturday's event (10/02/2010) in Washington ended up with a mess left behind by those who participated I almost came unglued. The nerve of those attending that rally to leave such a mess at one of our most honored and treasured locations. There are people who understand respect and then there are others who won't produce it but will expect it to be presented to them. Watch the video below and you can see the mess left behind. Leave me a comment on what you think.

You think...

San Francisco (0-4) blew a 14-0 first-quarter
lead due in part to a pair of interceptions by Alex Smith.
"Those were critical errors," Smith said.

Now most of you know that no matter what happens each season I will still remain a great supporter of Niners. If it was someone else they would of dumped this team and moved on to a better one. I still truly feel that the 49ers will have a decent season. Even though Smith had a few errors I still consider him too new to blame. I just hope that my other Niners fans don't give up on the team. Still with guys!

Playing very well...

It feels good to not be able to watch the game and still see the outcome look totally awesome. With a game like that who knows what's to come in the next few games. I will definitely be focusing on their performance - join me if you're a fellow Wolverine.

from the UPI coverage -

Michigan 42, Indiana 35
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (UPI) -- Denard Robinson completed a long pass and then ran in the game-winning score Saturday in No. 19 Michigan's 42-35 victory over Indiana.

Robinson found Junior Hemingway on a 42-yard pass with just 21 seconds remaining and on the next play scampered into the end zone to hand the Wolverines (5-0, 1-0 Big 10) a victory in the conference openers for both schools.

Robinson moved Michigan 73 yards on five plays during the decisive fourth-quarter drive. He was an offensive force, piling up 494 total yards and accounting for five touchdowns, including a 70-yard TD pass to Hemingway.

The Heisman Trophy candidate finished the day 10-of-16 passing for 277 yards while racking up 217 yards and two scores on the ground.

Ben Chappell, meanwhile, had a big day for Indiana (3-1, 0-1), setting school records for passing yards (480), completions (45) and attempts (64). He connected for with three touchdowns and an interception.

85 sees a spot on NFL Playoffs...

Well well well - it looks like somene has jumped the gun and has already predicted that his team will be in the playoffs. Good ole Ochocinco (from the CINCINNATI BENGALS) has said in the middle of the teams mandatory minicamp that he feels the team will be in the playoffs this season. Seriously, this is not a mistake or a messed up post - Chad is holding within his mind the hopes of getting to the playoffs. Well all I can say is good luck with that because unless you predict my 49ers in the running as well then I'm going to have to lean over and say "Maybe next year". Okay okay I'll behave, you never know they might very well make it to the playoffs given the other teams come down with some serious illness and are not permitted to participate. Alright I'll stop it, but on the serious side - good luck to the team and hope to see another great season of NFL football.

Back in the day...

The phrase "Back in the day" comes up a bit when either families are having a festive gathering or when an individual is having a conversation with someone. I have had moments when I feel that no matter what I do I can't seem to do anything right - and the first thing that comes to mind is maybe an old friend from back in the day that would be there to tell you that it's going to be fine so don't worry about it. I read an article the other day that would be nice to see done more and more herr in the US. Give the following a read and leave me a comment regarding what you read...

SOUTHAMPTON, England (UPI) -- Nostalgia amplifies perceptions of social support, and in this way, counteracts feelings of loneliness, British and Chinese researchers said.

Constantine Sedikides and Tim Wildschut from the University of Southampton, England, and Xinyue Zhou and Ding-Guo Gao from Sun Yat-Sen University, in China, ran a series of experiments that had participants answer questions related to feelings of loneliness, social support and nostalgia.

The study participants included children, college students and factory workers. In addition, the factory workers were also assessed on their resilience -- their ability to recover from traumatic events and adverse life situations.

The study, published in Psychological Science, found individuals who felt the loneliest reported receiving the least amount of social support.

However, when nostalgia was induced in a number of the study participants, they in turn perceived to have the greatest amount of social support.

These findings suggest nostalgia boosts perceptions of social support, and in this way, mitigates feelings of loneliness. In addition, the findings revealed that the most resilient individuals are more likely to use nostalgia to overcome feelings of loneliness.

A strong love...

I just got done watching a video of a man that almost lost his dog to a shark - yes a shark. The thought of involving yourself to help a fellow family member might come as a surprise to some people but for this gentleman it wasn't something worth pondering. He quickly sprung into action and saved the dog from the jaws of the shark by punching the shark hard enough so that it would release its' grip. I would probably act the same way for my dog but there are some times where I might not because the dog was a bit of a pain that day or something but if it was any of my family members I would definitely do something to help them. Watch the video and see for yourself the love that he has for his dog.

Boston doing great and only 3 games behind...

2008 AL East Standings

Team___________W_______L______GB______RS______RA

Tampa Bay_______55______36______-______427_____369
Boston________55______39____1.5_____478_____387
NY Yankees______49______43______6.5_____426_____399

With the standings being where they are now I feel comfortable saying that Boston will have a great season from here on out. Now I would love to see another title won but that might be pushing it a bit much. Can you imagine the burst of energy that would come out of Boston if that were to happen. I'll just wait and look forard to it in the next few months - I'll focus more on this weekends trio when the Red Sox take on the Orioles.
Good Luck Boston!

Are you a "Nervous Wreck"?

MADISON, Wis. - U.S. scientists announced the discovery of a gene they call "nervous wreck" that is essential to the proper development of nerve cells in the fruit fly.

The gene governs the size of a synapse -- the junction between nerve cell endings. University of Wisconsin scientists said the gene prevents synapses from overgrowing by damping the effects of a pro-growth signal. Mutations in a human version of the "nervous wreck" gene have been linked to a severe genetic developmental disability

The 100 billion nerve cells in the human make trillions of synaptic connections to neurons, muscle cells and other cell types. Malfunctions at synapses are believed to be among the many factors leading to various neurological disorders.

Kate O'Connor-Giles, a postdoctoral fellow who led the study, said, "We really need to have a deep understanding of how all the factors involved are working together to develop rational treatments for neurological disorders associated with aberrant synaptic growth."

The researchers say their findings might speed the development of treatments for neurological disorders.

The study appears in the journal Neuron.
After reading the article above I have learned that the many friends in my past may have had this infamous gene. Heck half of the baseball team might of been affected by this. Go figure.

Charging through...

MILWAUKEE (UPI) -- Luol Deng scored 32 points Monday to lead the Chicago Bulls in a 151-135 slugfest win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Ben Gordon added 29 points and Chris Duhon had 22 points and 15 assists for the Bulls.

Andrew Bogut scored 25 points for the Bucks, who have lost seven games in a row. Michael Redd and Charlie Villanueva each had 22 points and Ramon Sessions had 20 points and a franchise-record 24 assists.

Milwaukee led 45-39 after the first quarter and 81-71 at halftime. The Bulls had a 49-20 edge in the third period.

I'm not sure where the Bulls stand as far as playoff time but even if they don't make it this time around I definitely hope they bring their A Game next year and focus on the entire team's talents.
