(CNN) -- Debra Lafave, a former Florida middle school teacher convicted of having sex with a student, was arrested Tuesday for "inappropriate but non-sexual contact" with a teenage coworker, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
"I can only characterize this as somewhat of a bizarre and unusual violation," said Lafave's attorney, John Fitzgibbons. Lafave pleaded guilty in November 2005 to having sex with a 14-year-old boy and was sentenced to three years under house arrest and seven years of probation.
This woman is complying with many stips and because she was talking about her crappy life to some chick in a restaurant she's arrested for violating the rules. I don't want to know the behind the scenes on this one because I don't want to know. What I do know is that if she was working at a restaurant you would think that the owner would not of hired her if there was an employee under the age of 18 or on the flip side hire a 17 year old knowing that Debra was working there. Just a little common sense folks that's all.

She is a pedophile, and should have gone to prison in the first place. I hope that's where she ends up.
I agree, if it was a man doing what she did he would of been sent to jail immediately. I definitely know that society saw it as "Oh it's a woman please go easy. she must be suffering from some sort of mental disorder." Now for a guy the comment would of been "That dirty bastard, how can he do that and live with himself?!" That's the way society is - I feel equality should be spread evenly and not reluctantly.
So........She gets busted for talking to a co-worker on a job her probation officer deemed ok for her to work at. What the Hell is wrong w/ this picture? The probation officer is to blame for her violation.
You know what, you're right. The probation officer is responsible for this screw up. The officer should of known of the environment in which his/her "client" was going to be for quite some time. I also blame John Fitzgibbons her attorney for fumbling this as well.
I'm not seeing a violation. This is simply a woman who broke the law, is in the process of being punished for her crime, and is now being scrutinized for her every move. It's ridiculous to say she can't speak to a coworker about he personal life. If the coworker was uncomfortable with Lafave's conversation, she should have told Lafave, and then if she didn't shut up, the coworker could report it. Typical instance of calling the police before taking any personal responsibility.
