Or you could just buy a Mac...
4 years and counting - no crash, no virus, no problems. After years of saying I would never use a Mac (I even had one in my classroom and vowed never to use it), all it took was a 5-minute demo of the integrated iLife software to convert me. No more "blue screen of death" for me!
I own a Mac Mini - and yes it's awesome.
